Analogue vinyl platters converted to bits & bytes in the never ending journey for audio perfection. (It's a long road). This project is an attempt to achieve the best possible high resolution facsimiles from analogue vinyl media using affordable equipment. The Needle Time blog posts outline the results of these experiments to evidence what can be achieved from original analogue pressings. Lineage: Original vinyl pressing > ProJect Classic SB (Audio-Technica AT33EV Cart)(Classic Evo Alu Sub-Platter)(Hexmat Eclipse Platter Mat) > Audioquest Red River Phono RCA > Pro-Ject Audio Tube Box DS2 (Input impedance 100ohms - 50db Gain/Subsonic Filter Off) > Mogami 2534 Neutrik Gold RCA-XLR > Steinberg UR242 > OehlBach Evolution-B USB cable > Windows 11 PC> iZoptope RX9 (captured in 32(float)/176.4)(gain if necessary)(clean up)> Foobar(convert WAV to 24-Bits of FLAC)(tag with DISCOGS) These files will play in most good quality audio players, they probably won't work with iTunes or Apple Music or whatever it is called these days. I recommend Foobar as it is free and works with nearly all platforms. If streaming from a PC, please remember to adjust your soundcard settings, better still connect a DAC ...or you may as well be listening to CD audio. No compression or other digital shenanigans have been applied, the volume levels tend to be well below -1db so use your volume button, rather than any gain plug-in. Please enjoy the results of my work, however please delete the files after you have sampled them and if you like the music herein, please track down and purchase the original works by the original artists. Please DO NOT attempt to share these elsewhere on the internet, or worse, pass them off as your own work.
